Young Americans Community Showcase

A school, library, community center, business, or local organization can invite young people to share what makes them proud to be an American and what they appreciate about growing up and living in the United States.

Participants might talk about the freedoms, opportunities, traditions, education, diversity, communities, technology, sports, arts, or everyday experiences they value. They can also reflect on opportunities available in America that may not be available in the same way in every country.

Young people can participate through short speeches, essays, artwork, poems, videos, music, photography, posters, or other creative presentations.

The purpose is not to suggest that America is perfect or that other countries have nothing to offer. It is to give young Americans an opportunity to recognize the freedoms and opportunities they value, express gratitude, and share their hopes for the country’s future.
